wife.

So I'm getting married.
September 24th. 108 days. :)

Isn't he handsome?!!

We have a wonderful pastor who is doing pre-marital counseling with us and we have been loving it so far. It's so cool to go sit in a room with someone who has a massive amount of knowledge of the Bible and listen to advice and study the Bible with him.

Anyways... I had an assignment for counseling to talk to a lady in a successful Godly marriage and ask some questions and then write about what the "ideal wife" would be. My wonderful friend Laura took time to go out to coffee with me last night and I had such a good time! We talked for over 3 hours.
Laura just happens to be one of my favorite people in the world.
She is older then me, but she doesn't ever talk to me like I'm younger then her. She hangs out and talks to me just as a friend. It was such a blessing to be with her last night and not only get to ask her questions about being a Godly wife, but also just to see that in action. She is such a humble person who knows that she isn't perfect. She doesn't ever try to put on a face and act like she's something that she isn't. She is always working towards improving herself. Her husband and her are going to Spain next week for three weeks to see if God wants them there for full time missionary work. She has three kids and is taking them on a 13 hour flight. That alone blows my mind! I love that they are willing to drop everything and go to Spain to follow God's leading.
I want to be the kind of wife that is willing to go anywhere and do anything to follow God with my husband.

I find that the Bible says what I want to a lot better then I do.

This is what I'm striving for:

Proverbs 31:10-31

"An excellent wife who can find?
   She is far more precious than jewels.
The heart of her husband trusts in her,
   and he will have no lack of gain.
She does him good, and not harm,
   all the days of her life.
She seeks wool and flax,
   and works with willing hands.
She is like the ships of the merchant;
   she brings her food from afar.
She rises while it is yet night
   and provides food for her household
   and portions for her maidens.
She considers a field and buys it;
   with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard.
She dresses herself with strength
   and makes her arms strong.
She perceives that her merchandise is profitable.
   Her lamp does not go out at night.
She puts her hands to the distaff,
   and her hands hold the spindle.
She opens her hand to the poor
   and reaches out her hands to the needy.
She is not afraid of snow for her household,
   for all her household are clothed in scarlet.[f]
She makes bed coverings for herself;
   her clothing is fine linen and purple.
Her husband is known in the gates
   when he sits among the elders of the land.
She makes linen garments and sells them;
   she delivers sashes to the merchant.
 Strength and dignity are her clothing,
   and she laughs at the time to come.
She opens her mouth with wisdom,
   and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.
She looks well to the ways of her household
   and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children rise up and call her blessed;
   her husband also, and he praises her:
"Many women have done excellently,
   but you surpass them all."
 Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain,
   but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
Give her of the fruit of her hands,
   and let her works praise her in the gates."
