"Jesus is calling us to be willing to suffer anything and forsake everything for the sake of the gospel. His call is to love those who have cheated us in business; those who have spread nasty rumors about us; those who would kill us if they could; those who disagree with us politically, practically, and fundamentally. His call is to consider everything a loss for His sake. His call is for total surrender. He calls us to give up all that we have, to give even to the point of offering up our lives as a living sacrifice. His call means realizing that His power is made perfect in our weakness, that when we are weak we are also strong."
-Francis Chan (Forgotten God)
I love this book.
It is so very convicting every time I pick it up again. Am I truly living for Christ 100%? Am I willing to be like Abraham was and leave my home without even knowing when God is taking me? Am I willing to be like the poor widow who gave all that she had to the temple?
Funny thing is... I prayed before I started reading the book "Forgotten God" today and I was asking God to give me the strength to give up everything and live all out for Him no matter what. Then I read the quote I started this post with. I have a feeling something is coming up and God is preparing my heart to let it all go for Him.
I don't want to live for myself.
I want to live for my God.
All out,100% radical faith in Him.

I'm enjoying your blog so much! :) I can't wait to read that book and I love that quote. I've often wondered if I would be willing to do whatever and go where ever God calls me to. I too want to live for God and be totally surrendered to His will for my life. I pray that God would make me ready and willing to follow Him anywhere and give up anything for Him.
